Major crash on U.S. 70 sends one to ECU Health

A four-vehicle accident slowed traffic this afternoon on a major Lenoir County roadway and sent one patient to ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville via EastCare.

Just before 2:30 this afternoon, fire and EMS units were dispatched to a vehicle accident at the intersection of Jim Sutton Road and U.S. 70 West in the Little Baltimore section of La Grange. Firefighters arrived to find four vehicles involved with major damage.

EastCare air transported one of those involved to ECU Health. Four additional patients were transported by EMS to UNC Health Lenoir in Kinston with minor injuries.

Responding agencies included the N.C. State Highway Patrol, La Grange Volunteer Fire Department, Lenoir County EMS and the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office.

All media questions should be addressed to the Highway Patrol, who is in charge of the investigation.
