Gov’t Mule — Bring On The Music/Live From the Capitol Theater

Mule live.jpg

Gov’t Mule celebrate their silver anniversary with Bring On The Music/Live From The Capitol Theater. Former Allman Brother Warren Haynes leads the band with soulful vocals and blistering guitar. Drummer Matt Abts and bassist Jorgen Carlsson create a swing with bite, while keyboardist/guitarist Danny Louis weaves everything together with tasteful solos. The album is available in multiple CD/DVD/Vinyl/Blu-ray configurations. CLICK HERE for samples.

Rhiannon Giddens — There Is No Other

Rhiannon.jpg

Carolina Chocolate Drops leader Rhiannon Giddens latest solo outing is a collaboration with multi-instrumentalist Francesco Turrisi. The performances can easily be described as haunting, with Giddens’ eerily pure vocals evoking the brooding sides of Joni Mitchell and Sandy Denny. Dozens of styles intersect on There Is No Other, but they do so in such an effortless manner it’s hard to detect. CLICK HERE for samples.

Creedance Clearwater Revival — Live At Woodstock

ccr resize.jpg

For years, the only way to hear CCR’s set at the 1969 Woodstock Festival was to obtain a copy of a poor quality, distorted bootleg. Finally, a short 50 years later this well-mixed official release presents the band at the height of their powers. Given the legal acrimony that has existed within the CCR camp over the last few decades, it’s a miracle this release has seen the light of day. CLICK HERE for samples.
