NCDOT: Maintenance Scheduled for Lenoir County Road

Work planned to begin Tuesday

KINSTON - A section of a Kinston road is scheduled to be closed to traffic for maintenance work ahead of it being resurfaced.

Hull Road near West Vernon Avenue will be closed May 7 and 8. The N.C. Department of Transportation maintenance staff will remove an abandoned rail spur off the Norfolk Southern Track. This work need to be done before the road is resurfaced later this year.

Traffic can take West Vernon Avenue and U.S. 258 to access either side of the closure.

Drivers should plan their commute ahead of time and drive cautiously near the work zone.

For real-time travel information, visit DriveNC.gov or follow NCDOT on social media.
