Bill’s Grill in La Grange to close July 12, relocation planned for Goldsboro

LA GRANGE — After just over three years of serving up homestyle country cooking, live music, and cold drinks in downtown La Grange, Bill’s Grill & Bar has announced it will permanently close its doors at the Caswell Street location on Saturday, July 12.

The announcement came via the restaurant’s Facebook page on Monday, with owners citing plans to relocate operations to Goldsboro in the near future. Until then, Bill’s Grill will continue catering and operating food trucks throughout the region, while their Wilson locations remain open.

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce this coming Saturday will be our last day open at our LaGrange location,” the post read. “Let’s celebrate our final week together — starting today, enjoy half-price appetizers and drinks all week long!”

The restaurant, located at 131 S. Caswell St., opened in June 2022 with a promise to bring the same down-home hospitality and full-service bar that made their Wilson and Black Creek locations popular with locals. Known for hearty plates, gourmet steaks, and old-fashioned burgers, Bill’s quickly became a staple for La Grange diners looking for casual fare and live entertainment.

Their final week includes a performance by local band Wood & Steel on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.

Despite the closure, the Bill’s Grill team says they’re still available for event catering. Community members can reach out to Will at (252) 299-4396 or Hunter at (252) 955-7915 for service inquiries.

“Your love and loyalty have meant the world to us,” the post continued. “Thank you, and may God bless everyone in our community who has supported us.”

For updates on future plans, including the anticipated Goldsboro reopening, residents are encouraged to follow the restaurant’s Facebook page.
