LCC Instructional Studio Up and Running

Lenoir Community College has begun using its first instructional studio to transmit live instruction to local high schools. These state-of-the-art rooms are equipped with document scanners, whiteboard cameras, high tech cameras and sound, lighting, and more. Mike Parker: The sad fate of my electronic devices

I did not know I would endure my own trio of “deaths” over a four-day period. First, my wireless router died, turning my home into a Wifi wasteland. Next, my longtime friend, an HP8600 Printer, began to send me multitudes of error messages. In the end, I had to pull the plug. Then my Samsung 58-inch smart HD TV went black and no amount of coaxing could bring it back to light.

I had an epiphany the other night… you know one of those thoughts that cross your mind after you’ve eaten one too many Double-Stuffed Oreos at 1:00 a.m. because you couldn’t fall asleep and were watching The Mentalist before you turned off the lights. I realized I could no longer say that I have never experienced the fearful grip of a pandemic, the subsequent stay at home order issued by a governor, and the absolute panic of going to four different stores at 7:00 a.m. and seeing no toilet paper on the shelves.
