Kinston-Lenoir County Chamber of Commerce Announces the 108th Annual Awards Presentations
The Kinston-Lenoir County Chamber of Commerce’s 108th Annual Awards Presentations will be held in January – with one minor difference. Not only will the Chamber reveal the 2018 Kinston-Lenoir County’s Citizen of the Year but the Young Professional of the Year as well. Both prestigious awards meet the same criteria with different age requirements.
The Citizen of the Year Award will be given to a man or woman age 40 and above who resides in Lenoir County and has rendered outstanding services for the county. The limitations of this service are not defined because meaningful service to the community is often long range. If a couple has performed outstanding services during the course of the year, each may be awarded a plaque.
The Young Professional of the Year must be between the ages of 21 to 39. The services rendered do not have to be connected with the Young Professionals of Lenoir County program and activities. The person chosen for the Young Professional of the Year Award will have rendered an outstanding body of work during their service for Lenoir County. Just as the Citizen of the Year, the limitations of this service are not defined because meaningful service to the community is often long range.
Recipients of both awards do not have to be members of the Chamber of Commerce. The recipient of the Citizen of the Year and the Young Professional of the Year will leave the Chamber’s Annual Banquet with prestigious awards reflecting their exceptional services in Lenoir County.
You may pick up a nomination form at the Chamber office, 301 N. Queen Street or go to kinstonchamber.com to download an electronic version. Nominations must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Monday, November 26th. The Citizen of the Year and Young Professional of the Year Awards will be presented at the Kinston-Lenoir County Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet to be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019. Be sure to add these dates to your calendar. Contact Erin Passailaigue at epassailaigue@kinstonchamber.com or 252-527-1131 if you need additional information.
