Neuse News to broadcast second football game every Friday
Neuse News will broadcast a second game of the week on Fridays this high school football season using the power of Facebook Live Audio.
Bryan Hanks and Jimmy Smith will provide commentary on WRNS 960-AM "The Bull" on a presentation known as the Davis Wholesale Tire Game of the Week and can also be found at 960thebull.com.
However, on the Neuse News Facebook Page, Graham Hill and Junious Smith III will have a separate broadcast called the “Neuse News Game of the Week.”
"In addition to the 960 The Bull Game of the Week, we're adding even more depth to our high school football coverage like you've never imagined,” Neuse News publisher B.J. Murphy said. “Using the audio experience of Facebook Live Audio, we'll be able to cover out-of-the-area football games similar to radio, but in the social media space of Facebook Live.
"We're happy to bring you the voices of your entrusted sports correspondent Junious Smith III and rising broadcasting star Graham Hill. Together, these two young men are pioneering how local sports should be covered."
Smith said he’s excited about the opportunity and ready to be a part of a new venture.
“It is truly a blessing to take football coverage to the next level with Neuse News,” Smith said. “Graham and I are ecstatic about putting together a strong broadcast each week while continuing the concept of hyper-local news to the community. We'll do our part to ensure the area gets sports coverage that has been sorely lacking here as of late.”
Hill said Neuse News will cover high school football like it’s never been done before.
“Through Facebook Live Audio myself, along with my broadcast partner Junious Smith III, will cover games live from the exact location of the game,” Hill said. “Listeners will be able to go to our Neuse News Facebook page, tune in to the game, and listen to live coverage like it’s the radio. We hope you will listen in to our first game this season this Friday as we’ll be covering the Arendell Parrott Academy vs. Rocky Mount Academy game.”
