According to Pink Hill Public Works Director Timmy Kennedy, the Town of Pink Hill is completely without power.

"There are about 350 residences in town," Kennedy said. "Most of our residents are on Duke Power, with a smaller number on Tri-County. A Duke Energy employee gave an estimate of 24 hours before power could be restored."

Kennedy said there were currently no issues with the Pink Hill water system. He also said the emergency personnel would be clearing fallen trees and debris as soon as it was safe to do so.

Pink Hill Police Chief Joey Thigpen told Neuse News correspondent Junious Smith III the major concern is safety, especially with the town having been without power since Thursday night.

"The main thing is to stay off of the roads," Thigpen said. "We've got a county-enacted curfew now from dusk to dawn, so the people need to take heed. Don't try to drive over water if you are out because you don't know how deep it is. We don't want anyone to get caught in a situation where they can't get out of the vehicle. Don't go out unless you have to and if you need any assistance, call 911."
