Two confirmed deaths reported from Hurricane Florence in Kinston
A pair of elderly men have died due to the destruction of Hurricane Florence, as reported by Lenoir County Emergency Services Director Roger Dail.
A 78-year-old male was electrocuted at a residence on Silver Smith Circle this morning when he was attempting to connect two extension cords outside in the rain. His body was discovered by family members.
Also, a 77-year-old male’s body was discovered at 8 a.m. today by his family at his residence on Middle Street. It is believed his death was caused when he was blown down by the wind when he went out to check on his hunting dogs.
Both deaths were reported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office.
