Reece Gardner: Kavanaugh - guilty until proven innocent?

A case can be made that Christine Ford has perhaps been working with anti-Trump forces to destroy Brett Kavanaugh.

The Senate Judiciary Committee offered Ford the chance to tell her story on Monday, and to do so privately or publicly. They were even willing to come to her in California for the interview. She rejected every offer.

First, she said that the FBI must investigate before she would testify. Then her lawyer said she would testify, but not on Monday. She then made a series of demands, some of which no one could accept, such as insisting that Kavanaugh must testify FIRST.

But Judge Kavanaugh is the accused, and in America, the accused has the right to ANSWER charges that are first made by the accuser. Also, she has named other students who were supposedly at this party almost 40 years ago, but they have submitted letters to the Judiciary Committee denying they were there. These letters cannot be taken lightly since they carry the same penalty of perjury as a testimony would.

In addition, women who know Brett Kavanaugh have expressed their support for him. The Free Beacon has reported that seventy-five women with long-standing associations with Judge Kavanaugh came forward on Friday with full support for him.

Sarah Fagan, a former Kavanaugh colleague from the George W. Bush Administration, said this:  "Women from every phase of Judge Kavanaugh's life, those who know him best, have come forward to say that they absolutely DO NOT believe that the allegation being leveled against him is true and that they are proud to stand with him."

This campaign against Kavanaugh has recently reached a new low, with his wife, Ashley, receiving a number of threatening emails this week. One of these emails, as reported by The Wall Street Journal and other news outlets, said "My condolences to you for being married to a rapist, although you probably deserve it." Another message read, "F... you and your racist husband." The WSJ reported two others sent to her, one saying, "May you and your husband and your kids burn in hell," and another saying she should tell her husband to "Put a bullet in his skull."

All of this comes as a result of one woman claiming Judge Kavanaugh did "something" to her some 36 years ago when they were both teenagers. But there is no credible evidence that he is guilty of anything. This all seems to be a ploy by leftists to deny Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation to the Supreme Court. Their approach seems to be "guilty until proven innocent," but, fortunately, in our country, it's the other way around.

Now, let's close with this:  A self-educated old farmer who had never owned a fancy car was looking at a brand new Cadillac. The salesman said, "This particular model will cost you $35,000." So the farmer reached into his pocket and counted out $35,000.  When the salesman saw this he said, "Well, if you're paying cash, I can give you a discount."

Not knowing what he meant, the farmer asked for a minute and went next door to a beauty shop.  Inside, he asked the beautiful girl who worked there, "Do you know what the word 'discount' means?"  She explained, "It means to take something off." So he asked her, "Well, how much would you take off if I gave you $35,000?" She answered, "Will these earrings bother you?"

Have a wondrous day!
