Mother Earth owners to release sparkling seltzer water
Mother Earth owners Stephen Hill and Trent Mooring are teaming up for another venture.
Sercy Spiked and Sparkling is a groundbreaking beverage company, which specializes in high-quality, organic sparkling seltzer water. The beverage will be produced and packaged in Kinston with plans to distribute nationwide.
The name, “Sercy,” comes from a traditional Southern word for “unexpected gift,” embodying the spirit of what Mooring and Hill aim to create with the beverage. Made with all organic ingredients, Sercy Spiked and Sparkling offers a light, refreshing, gluten free, low- calorie alternative to heavy beers and strong liquor.
“We are really excited about this new venture,” Mooring said. “This gives us the ability to broaden our footprint even further into other segments of our favorite industry, and join the ever-popular sparkling water libations which look to be the future of our great industry.”
Sercy Spiked and Sparkling will launch in spring of 2019, and will be available in 12 ounce, 12-can variety packs. The initial flavor release will consist of Cucumber Lime, Orange Raspberry, Peach Lychee and Mixed Berry. All four of the low sodium, 100 calorie beverages will be 5 percent alcohol by volume and contain no carbohydrates or sugars.
The headquarters for Sercy will be at 318 Walls Alley, a restored warehouse in downtown Kinston and furthering the passion of the Mother Earth duo to revitalize the area.
“We are thrilled to be a part of the downtown business community in Kinston,” Hill said. “Even as we branch out with a new, national brand, there is nowhere else we can imagine calling our corporate home than Kinston, North Carolina.”
Mooring said he’s excited about the prospects of Sercy.
“We think this is the wave of the future industry,” Mooring said. “There are great drinks and we’ve been doing research and development over the past four or five months to get to where we’re happy about it. We hope it becomes a national brand and believes it has export potential.”
