Farmer's Market Update: Jan. 26, 2019

Publisher's note: The following are excerpts of an email update from the Lenoir County Farmer's Market organizers. Photo by Linda Whittington / Neuse News

There will be no vendors at the Farmer’s Market from now until strawberry season, which will be in April. Rodney, the Pork Skin Man, will be open randomly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday.

You will be able to tell when he has pork skins by the signs he puts on Vernon Avenue and other places around town.  Can't wait for those delicious strawberries and asparagus! See you in April!

Upcoming events at the Farmer's Market

April 19-20 — 8 a.m.-1 p.m.: Master Gardeners Annual $1 plant sale. All sales will be from the greenhouse at the Extension Office this year.
April 27 — HomeGrown Event: Radio Station WSFL and Radio Joe will be broadcasting from our market; it’s a special day with bands and extra vendors and food trucks. More exciting info to follow.
May 3-4 — Festival on the Neuse

We are so thrilled that a new roof is being installed at the market. Some of our vendors have been dodging leaks for a while, but now that will be over! Many thanks to the Lenoir County Commissioners for realizing our worth in the community by taking care of our distinctive market, our vendors and our customers. It's going to be a great 2019.
