Obituary - Rev. Daniel Brian Cromer

Rev. Daniel Brian Cromer, loving husband, father, brother and pastor, was welcomed home into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, January 5, 2019. Dan was born on January 13, 1952 in Louisville, Kentucky to William R. and Lois S. Cromer, who preceded him to heaven. He is survived by his dedicated wife Lisa Ullrich Cromer, and devoted family Alena Cromer; Aline and Rogerio Botelho-Gindro; Brent and Dana Cromer Gribbins (Valarie, Juliane, and Isadora); Sean and Kimberly Cromer Andersen (Clyde, Scarlett, Ella, and Grafton); brothers Ralph William Cromer (Mary) and Brian Alan Cromer (Laura).

“Pastor Dan,” as he was known to all who loved and knew him, was a giant of a man whose heart outsized his 6’5” frame. He followed in his father’s footsteps and spent a career serving God and seeking to be a servant to others. In roles as Minister of Music or as Pastor, Dan served churches in Kentucky, Virginia, and North Carolina. His deepest passion was for people to know and worship God.

His earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Georgetown University, Georgetown, Kentucky; a Master of Church Music degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky; and, a Master of Divinity degree from Baptist Seminary of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky.

A service to celebrate Dan’s life will take place at Spilman Memorial Baptist Church, 601 W. Madison Street, Kinston, North Carolina, on Friday, January 11, 2019, at 2 p.m. Family will greet visitors in the church fellowship hall following the worship service.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Hope Preparatory School, c/o Spilman Memorial Baptist Church, 601 W. Madison, Kinston, NC, 28501.
