Some of the streets that lead down to our Farmers Market will be blocked to traffic on Saturday as Mother Earth Brewery will be having a party to celebrate its 10th Anniversary and the Fifth Anniversary of Mother Earth Distillery. We congratulate them on their success and their contribution to our community.

However, from Vernon Ave., just go over to McLewean Street down to Caswell and turn right. That will bring you directly into the market. There will be plenty of parking as usual.

We should all be used to street closings by now, so one more small inconvenience will not hurt anyone. Queen Street is nearing completion, and it looks fabulous! Remember, our vendors are business people also, and they depend on your support.

Cheesecakes, Baked cakes, Wreaths, wall hangings, block lights and much more, Pork skins, pork rinds and fried peanuts. All kinds of pickles, salad dressings and marinades, handmade soaps, lotions, bath salts, Bath bombs and much more!

Don’t forget! We now have two vendors who make desserts - cheesecakes, pound cakes, candid apples and other goodies. Come down and check them out. You may even get a sample ! Unfortunately, Irene's Cheesecakes will not be present this week, but Inez will be there!

Kelly Tyndall, Family and Consumer Sciences agent from the Lenoir County Cooperative Extension, will be with us to guide us in the preparation of the Eastern North Carolina's favorite leafy green - collards! This should be interesting, as well as informative and tasty. Samples will be served.

Breakfast on the Boat

For the best breakfast in town that day, come out and support our neighbors as they raise money for the upkeep of the only full-sized replica of a Confederate ironclad in the world.

Saturday, October 26
The Lenoir County SPCA will bring their booth to the front lawn of the Rick Holder Annex. They will have dogs dressed in Halloween costumes. Now you know that will be a heart-stealer.

Saturday, November 23
Vivian Howard and Leraine Howard Tolston share their cooking talents with us. They are so popular and always draw a crowd. We really appreciate their interest in our vendors and our market. Come down to thank them in person.
