Mother Earth’s Tap Room is back and better than ever.

After about a month of renovations, the tap room reopened Saturday with numerous changes, both visually and for selection. Tap room manager Jeremiah Mullins said there’s plenty for people to enjoy.

“A lot of people are excited about the mural, the tap list — we’ve added 16 beers — and we’re just trying to provide a better vibe,” Mullins said.

The mural, as patrons walk in, covers the entire eastern wall and was drawn up by a trio of artists represented by the smART Kinston Foundation — Jamil Burton, Maximillion Mozingo and Hayden Tedder. Grimesland resident John Groesser said it was one of the pieces that caught his eye about the establishment.

“What I love about this place is how there’s a good combination of new art with an old style, like the way the floor is built,” Groesser said. “As an artist, it’s something I appreciate and there’s a great combination. Also, (Mother Earth) has a great product.”

Although there has been plenty done already, Mother Earth co-owner Stephen Hill said there’s plenty to come.

“We still have ideas in the works to make this a better place,” Hill said. “We want to put in additional tables, change furniture outside, put in a trellis — there are some things we will continue to work on and hopefully, it will be wonderful for everyone who comes to the Tap Room.”

The Mother Earth Tap Room is now open seven days a week, from 4-10 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 1-10 p.m., Friday and Saturday; and 1-7 p.m. on Sunday.
