Obituary - Deborah (Debbie) Ann Hill

Kinston – Deborah (Debbie) Ann Hill, 61, died Friday, March 15, 2019 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Westminster United Methodist Church with the Reverend Dena White officiating. A private burial will be held in Westview Cemetery.

Debbie was an organ donor and has given gifts of life to benefit others. Her quick wit was surpassed only by her huge heart and enormous bravery. She loved an underdog and if you were one, or a homeless kitty, she was truly your advocate. She assumed it was fashionable to always be late, and she was always fashionable. We love her dearly and will miss her more than we can express. She had an Associates Degree and spent most of her working career in the healthcare field. She worked with Dr. Edwin Cooper over the last ten years and time she considered the highlight of her career.

Debbie was preceded in death by her father, James Clifton Hill, and her stepfather, Paul Anthony Stokes.

Debbie is survived by her mother, Marie Lilly Hill Stokes of Kinston, four sisters Helen Hill Townsend of Durham, Jimi Hill Pope and husband Mark of Kinston, Cathy Stokes Heath and husband Steve of Baker, FL, and Paula Stokes-Clark of Auburn, AL; nephews and nieces Cameron Hill Pope and Mackenzie Ruth Pope of Kinston, Anthony Heath and wife, Melissa of Baker, FL, Meghan Heath of Cleveland, MS, and Taylor Clark of Montgomery, AL.
