Lenoir County restaurant inspections for February 5 through Feb 12

The following inspections were conducted by the Lenoir County Health Department:

Food Lion Deli

301 Washington St., La Grange

Score: 95

Inspection date: 2/7/19

Observations:

Sanitizer in three-compartment sink was not strong enough - repeat violation

Several foods on serve line were less than 135F

A couple of wet wiping cloths laying on tables/prep area - shall be discarded or in sanitizer between uses

Knives stored in dirty holder and exposed to splash when cutting boards are cleaned

Plastic cart used to move items from walk-in to kitchen is rough and has plastic flaking

Floor needs additional cleaning

The Peach House

412 West Vernon Avenue, Kinston

Score: 98.5

Inspection date: 2/7/19

Observations:

Quiche, lunch meat and tomatoes were above 45F, while several other foods were above 41F - shall be at or below 41F


El Azteca

2928-A West Vernon Avenue, Kinston

Score: 97

Inspection date: 2/11/19

Observations:

No certified food protection manager present

Some food temperatures were above 41F

Raw steaks thawing on drain board - thaw under running water or in refrigerator

Sanitizer in wiping cloth bucket was too weak

Some dishes were stacked wet - let dishes air dry before stacking

Dumpster lid was open - keep closed

Jin Jin Chinese Restaurant

304-B East Washington Street, La Grange

Inspection date: 2/12/19

Observations:

Chicken breading pan, dry food bins (beside sink), knife and colander need additional cleaning

Unknown substances in spray bottles - label bottles with common name

Wet wiping cloths laying on counters/prep tables - shall be in sanitizer

Knife stored between prep table and prep unit - store in clean, dry location
