Norma-Jean Miller: Goodbye for now, Neuse News

When I first started my journey at Neuse News, I did not know what to expect. Every day, there was something new and different, which was exactly what I was looking for in an internship.
It is hard to say farewell because this internship was nothing but extraordinary — the people, the projects, the personalities. It was all such a great experience.
Going in as the oldest intern, maybe I was supposed to have the most experience, but that was certainly not true.
I am so thankful I was paired with this inaugural group of Neuse News Interns. I learned from them daily. I will truly miss our daily lunch breaks, coffee runs; by just simply seeing their bright faces, they made the days go by way too fast.
To B.J. and Aleatha, thank you for your mentorship. I am so glad I could work with you both. I learned what it takes to run a news business and how fast paced everything must be. Without you guys, Neuse News would not run as smooth as it does.
Thank you, B.J., for tasking me and Ali with the #ICYMI show. I came in at the beginning of the summer knowing I wanted to be a news anchor for a local news station one day. You helped with stage one of that goal.
Without you, I would not be as fearless as I am now to get in-front of the camera.
Lastly, I have had an internship before, but nothing compares to the family that this one has brought me. This summer has been so much fun and I am glad that I met all of you. You will forever hold a place in my heart.
As I start my senior year of college, I will take this experience and everything I learned with me. A year from now, I hope to return and say I have a big girl job at a news station somewhere.
Don’t worry, I will give Neuse News all the credit for showing me exactly what to do.
Goodbye for now, keep in touch and wish me luck.
