Jones County Sheriff's Office unveils arrests made in operation "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly"

According to a press release from the Jones County Sheriff’s Office, “since Hurricane Florence devastated Jones County in 2018, Sheriff Danny Heath has been doing a bit of ‘clean up’ of his own. As warmer temperatures moved into the area in the early months of 2019, Sheriff Heath announced operation ‘The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.’”

Sheriff Heath and his staff, along with assistance from Maysville Police Department, National Guard Counter Drug Team, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations, Carteret County Sheriff's Office, Onslow County Sheriff's Office, and the United States Marshal Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force, seized several ounces of crystal methamphetamine (valued over $12,000), heroin (valued over $50,480), crack-cocaine (valued over $1,580), cocaine (valued over $14,000), marijuana (valued over $9,000), MDMA (valued $4,250) and seized approximately $43,883.25 in U.S. Currency used for the illegal sale of narcotics since February of 2019.

On February 5, 2019, William "Billy" Jett of Pink Hill was arrested and charged with numerous offenses, including the sell and delivery of crystal methamphetamine. 11.5 grams of crystal methamphetamine, $387 in cash, and a loaded rifle were seized during the arrest. Mr. Jett is being held on a $48,000 secured bond. 

On February 13, 2019, Ronny Lynn Thomas of Trenton was arrested and charged with several drug offenses, including possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver crystal methamphetamine. 12 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 5 grams of marijuana, a .357 revolver, and nearly $3000 in cash were seized. Ms. Thomas is being held on a $15,000 secured bond. 

On February 13, 2019, Malik Gray of Trenton was arrested and charged with several drug offenses, including possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver heroin, cocaine, and marijuana. Approximately 7.3 grams of heroin, 8.2 grams of cocaine, 72.3 grams of marijuana, and $2000 in cash were seized during his arrest. Mr. Gray is being held on a $25,000 secured bond. 

On February 26, 2019, Shakir Kinlaw of Pollocksville was arrested and charged with felony possession of Schedule II, maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana up to 1/2 oz and driving while license revoked. Mr. Kinlaw was held under a $4,500 secured bond.

On March 6, 2019, Brandi Marie Grazioli of Sneads Ferry was arrested and charged for felony possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to manufacture sell deliver methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance and cited for an open container. Miss Grazioli was held under a $15,000 secured bond. 

On March 4, 2019, Lyle Gilbo III of Jacksonville was arrested and charged with trafficking in crystal methamphetamine. 2 ounces of crystal methamphetamine was seized during the arrest. Mr. Gilbo is being held on a $40,000 secured bond. 

On March 7, 2019, Martir Leonardo Ochoa Acosta of Rose Hill was arrested and charged for the possession of cocaine, maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license revoked, speeding and careless and reckless driving. Mr. Acosta was held under a $10,000 secured bond. 

On March 12, 2019, James Matthew Westbrook Jr. of New Bern and Christina Seymour of Jacksonville were arrested for felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a vehicle for controlled substance, possession of marijuana and no operator's license. Mr. Westbrook was held under a $2,000 secured bond for the methamphetamine related charges and Mrs. Seymour was held under a $1,000 secured bond for the marijuana related charges.

On March 21, 2019, Vernon Wesley Hill II of Hubert was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin, maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Hill was held under a $7,000 secured bond. 

On April 18, 2019, Charles Lassiter, Cassandra Stokes, and Norbert Koonce, all of Maysville, were arrested and charged with various drug charges. All three were charged with trafficking and conspiring to traffic in heroin. Mr. Lassiter also facing several charges associated with the sell and delivery of heroin and cocaine. In all, over a half pound of heroin, 5 ounces of marijuana, a 9mm pistol, and $1600 in cash were seized during the arrest. Mr. Lassiter is being held on a $700,000 secured bond, Ms. Stokes on a $200,000 secured bond, and Mr. Koonce on a $100,000 secured bond. 

On April 29, 2019, Casey Morgan, of Trenton, was arrested and charged with trafficking in crystal methamphetamine and sell & deliver crack cocaine. 1 ounce of crystal methamphetamine was seized during his arrest. Mr. Morgan was held on a $50,000 secured bond. 

Leslie Moore, of Maysville, was arrested and charged with several counts of felony sell & deliver heroin, as well as, conspiracy to traffic in heroin. Mr. Moore was held on a $500,000 secured bond 

Samuel Stang, of Maysville, was arrested and charged with felony sell & deliver heroin, as well as, conspiracy to traffic in heroin. Mr. Stang was held on a $100,000 secured bond. 

Robert Morris, of Maysville, was arrested and charged with felony sell & deliver heroin, as well as, conspiracy to traffic in heroin. Mr. Morris was held on a $100,000 

Clinton Wright, of Pollocksville, was arrested and charged with felony sell & deliver crack cocaine. Mr. Wright was held on a $12,000 secured bond.

On April 30, 2019, Xavier Pegues of Pollocksville was arrested and charged for the possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm on school property, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance. He was held on a $8,000 secured bond. 

On May 18, 2019, Jeremy Bill Combs of Maysville and Larry Eugene Arnette Jr. of Newport were both arrested and charged with two counts of trafficking in opium or heroin and possession of a Schedule I controlled substance. Both subjects were held under a $100,000 secured bond. 

On May 29, 2019, Richard Dale Faulk was arrested and charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. Mr. Faulk was held under a $1,000 secured bond. 

On May 31, 2019, Lance Hunter Taylor was arrested and charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting a public officer. Mr. Taylor was held under a $20,000 secured bond. 

On June 6, 2019, Craig Lester Hansley, was arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. Mr. Hansley was held under a $1,000 secured bond.

On June 11, 2019, Kenneth R. Hacker II of Pollocksville and Jonathan Trevor Kast of New Bern were arrested and charged with felony sell and deliver heroin, felony possession of Schedule I and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Hacker was held under a $400,000 secured bond and Mr. Kast was held under $100,000 secured bond. 

On June 29, 2019, Jefferie Glen Mattocks and Lisa Hattenhauer Graf were arrested and charged with possession with intent to manufacture sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, felony sell and deliver a Schedule II and felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. Mr. Mattocks and Mrs. Graf were held under a $10,000 secured bond.

On June 29, 2019, William Ashford Burroughs of Pollocksville was arrested and charged with two counts of possession with intent to manufacture sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, two counts of felony sell and deliver a Schedule II and two counts of felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. Mr. Burroughs was held under a $30,000 secured bond. 

On July 2, 2019, Gary Lee Williams Jr. of Atlantic Beach was arrested and charged with felony possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Williams was held on a $2,500 secured bond. 

On July 3, 2019, Thomas Darrin Jones of Kinston was arrested and charged with possession with intent to manufacture sell deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

On July 5, 2019, Xavier Rashawn Pegues of Pollocksville was arrested and charged with possession with intent to manufacture sell deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Pegues was held under a $5,000 secured bond.

On July 19, 2019, Kirek Antonio Rhodes of New Bern was arrested and charged with possession with intent to manufacture sell and/or deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

On August 13, 2019, Darren Harper of New Bern was arrested and charged with possession with intent to manufacture sell and/or deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Harper was held under a $4,000 secured bond. 

On August 22, 2019, Donelle "Smoke" Myers was apprehended by members of the Jones County Sheriff's Office with the assistance of the United States Marshalls Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force, Maysville Police Department, Swansboro Police Department and Onslow County Sheriff's Office. Mr. Myers was charged with outstanding warrants those included, five counts of trafficking in opium or heroin out of Jones and Duplin Counties, two counts of conspiracy to traffic heroin, one count of felony possession of a firearm by a felon, two counts of possession with intent to manufacture sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance and one count of maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance. Mr. Myers was held under a $20,400,000 secured bond. 

On August 23, 2019, Creed Allen Roberts and William Earl Roberts III were both arrested and charged with felony possession of a Schedule II, conspiracy to possess a Schedule II and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were both held under a $7,000 secured bond.

On August 24, 2019, Bobby Joe Morgan of Trenton was arrested and charged with felony possession of heroin, felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana up to 1/2 oz, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of failure to appear. Mr. Morgan was held on a $52,000 secured bond. 

On August 29, 2019, Lawrence Hill of Maysville was arrested and charged with 15 counts of conspiracy to sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, nine counts of sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, four counts of possession of firearm by a felon and one count of possession of a stolen firearm. Mr. Hill was held under a $1,000,000 secured bond. Mr. Hill's co-conspirators were also arrested and charged on the same date as follows: 

Anthony Dillahunt was arrested and charged with five counts of possession with intent to manufacture sell and deliver a Schedule II, five counts of possession of Schedule II and five counts of sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance. Mr. Dillahunt was held under a $500,000 secured bond. 

Damian Hill was arrested and charged with two counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule II, two counts of sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, two counts of felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and conspiracy to sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance.

Allen Dreves was arrested and charged with three counts of conspiracy to sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, three counts of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, two counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule II and two counts of sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance. He was held under a $500,000 secured bond. 

Marcellus Meadows was arrested and charged with two counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule II, two counts of sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance and two counts of possession of a schedule II controlled substance. 

Jeffrey Stang was arrested and charged with two counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule II, two counts of sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance and two counts of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. 

Martheina Starkey was arrested and charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule II, sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and conspiracy to sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance.

On September 1, 2019, Jamil Laron Blount of Deep Run was arrested and charged with felony possession of a Schedule II, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule II, maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Blount was held under a $3,000 secured bond. 

On September 25, 2019, Curtis William King was arrested and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

On October 10, 2019, Christopher Lynn White of Trenton was arrested and charged with felony possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. White was held under a $7,000 secured bond. 

On October 17, 2019, Gregory Wade Howard was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana, felony possession of a firearm by a felon and felony maintaining a vehicle, place or dwelling for a controlled substance. Mr. Howard was held under a $13,000 secured bond.

On October 18, 2019, Lanny T. Becton of Pollocksville was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana and felony maintaining a vehicle, place or dwelling for a controlled substance. Mr. Becton was held under a $6,000 secured bond. 

On November 25, 2019, Brysen Jacob Whaley and Houston Lane Sullivan of Maysville were arrested and charged with manufacturing a Schedule I controlled substance (mushrooms), felony possession of a Schedule I (heroin), maintaining a vehicle, place or dwelling for a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. Both subjects were issued a $5,000 unsecured bond. 

On November 30, 2019, James Dahlbender of Hubert was arrested and charged with felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule I controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance and driving while license revoked. Mr. Dahlbender was held under a $11,000 secured bond. 

On December 7, 2019, Hunter Chase Taylor of Kinston was arrested and charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana, manufacture marijuana, maintaining a vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Taylor was held under $3,000 secured bond. 

On December 11, 2019, Malcolm Goodman and Christian Rory-Derrick Martin Strayhorn were arrested and charged with felony flee to elude, trafficking in MDA/ MDMA a Schedule I controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver MDA/MDMA a controlled Schedule I, conspiracy to traffic MDA/MDMA a controlled Schedule I and possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana. Mr. Goodman was held under a no bond for parole violation and Mr. Strayhorn was held under a $100,000 secured bond.
