Lenoir County’s Sigma Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma recognizes outstanding beginning teachers

The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is a professional honorary society of women educators. The Society promotes professional and personal growth of its members and excellence in education. Established in 1929, Delta Kappa Gamma has attained major objectives in improving opportunities for qualified women employed at every level of education, as well as in advancing the status of women educators.
Lenoir County’s Sigma Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma recently recognized outstanding beginning teachers in their third year of teaching. These special young women were chosen by their mentors because they exhibit the qualities of an exceptional educator. Each of these young women received a bag filled with teaching supplies, as well as a certificate of recognition and a brochure about Delta Kappa Gamma. The following Lenoir County Public Schools Beginning Teachers were recognized for the month of December were as follows:
Elementary- Davida Sutton- La Grange
Middle Grades- Kameron Watson- CSS
High School- Emily Peterson- KHS
