Trenton native advances to third round of NBC’s The Titan Games
Trenton native Will Sutton retained his Titan title on his second appearance on NBC’s sports competition show The Titan Games, gearing up for a third appearance.
The Titan Games features incredible athletes with inspiring stories that compete in a series of physical challenges.
In his second appearance, Sutton, who is an agricultural teacher and JV basketball coach at Croatan High School, defended his title as the reigning male Titan in the East on the final challenge of the show, Mount Olympus.
His competitor, Ryan Steenberg, suffered an injury during one of the first obstacles in the challenging course and had to drop out of the competition, but Sutton went on to complete the course and win the title of Titan for the second time.
“I know that win was a little bittersweet because of the injury to Ryan and you don’t wish that on no one,” said Sutton. “But he is back training and blasting 400 feet moon rockets, so I think his recovery went good. Yes, his biceps are that big in person, too.”
The third episode of The Titan Games will air on Monday, July 27 at 8 p.m. on NBC, when Sutton will once again attempt to defend his status as Titan.
