KINSTON — Lenoir County has launched a new website: LenoirCountyNC.gov. Developed through a partnership with a Kinston-based firm — Edge360 Creative — the redesigned site highlights county services for citizens in a comprehensive, easy-to-navigate interface for visitors.

Lenoir County officially launched the newly-designed website at Monday’s Lenoir County Board of Commissioners meeting.

Visitors to Lenoir County’s website will immediately notice a dramatic new look. In addition to its appearance, the new site offers many improved features designed to help residents quickly locate the information and services they need.

The website is organized into sections for residents, businesses and visitors. There’s an “I Want To” menu option which provides direct links to specific information citizens might typically be looking for when visiting the site. Visitors will also find tools to help keep them informed about county-related public meetings, programs, news and special events.

Another significant change is the new website is now fully responsive — it automatically displays properly on mobile phones, tablets, desktops or any device.

Lenoir County Manager Michael James said the team redesigned the site from the perspective of county residents.

“Our website is an excellent way to provide visitors with information and access to county services,” he said. “Making information easier to access is a continuing priority as our website evolves over time.”

The county entered into a one-year contract with Edge360 Creative to design and host the website, develop new logos and branding for the county and each county department, and provide ongoing maintenance and support.

A large part of the project involved designing a new logo and branding. Edge360 Creative and local designer Brandon Potter worked with stakeholders in the organization to develop a new logo for the county and a unique logo for each county department. The new county logo features elements and a color palette that represents county history and agricultural heritage, the beauty of the community, its physical place along the Neuse River and where the county is headed as a leader in industry and aerospace.

“We are excited and honored to work with Lenoir County to develop and maintain a newly-designed, digital, mobile-responsive platform with all the information that citizens need,” Edge360 Creative Director Chris Decker said. “As a local company and residents of Lenoir County, we were able to lend a unique perspective while working with the team to develop a new look and structure for the site.”
