Greene County Schools adds more remote learning days to calendar
The Greene County Board of Education unanimously approved the additional remote learning days in the calendar for both the traditional schools and the Early College.
The addition of the calendar came at the recommendation of the school district’s principals and Superintendent Dr. Patrick Miller. Miller stated that “Our teachers have indicated that they need more time. Many teachers, particularly those teaching middle and high school, are working with face-to-face students, tracked-out students and with students in the Greene County Virtual Academy - all at the same time. The benefit of the Remote Learning Days is that teachers will be able to use the time to plan lessons, to create videos and additional online content in Canvas, to grade assignments/provide feedback to remote and face-to-face students, to meet with students virtually, and to communicate with parents.”
The first remote day will be Wednesday, September, 23. Each subsequent month will have two additional remote learning days - one in Track 1 and another in Track 2. These days will always be on Wednesdays with the exception of the Tuesday before Thanksgiving Break.
