Kinston Police: Arrest made in weekend shooting

On Sunday, September 20, 2020, at 4:19 p.m., Kinston Police Officers responded to a report of shots being fired in the area of the 700 Block of N. Adkin St. Kinston, NC. As officers were arriving in the area they were advised that a subject had been struck in the leg by gunfire. The juvenile victim was transported to UNC Lenoir by a private vehicle where he has since been treated and released.

On Monday, September 21, 2020, officers arrested Al Lee Myers of La Grange, NC for his involvement in this incident. Mr. Myers was taken into custody without incident and charged with Attempted Murder and Assault with a Deadly Weapon with intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury. Mr. Myers was held in the Lenoir County Jail under a $300,000.00 secure bond. This incident is still an active investigation.
