Arrest made in felony assault case

On Monday, August 31, 2020 at 3:07 p.m., Kinston Police responded to an assault on the 600 block of Madison Ave. Kinston, NC. When officers arrived on scene, they found the victim with a large laceration to his forehead. The victim was later transported to UNC Lenoir for his injuries.

On Wednesday, September 2, 2020 officers obtained warrants for Marquis Omar Johnson, age 23 of Kinston, NC for his involvement in this incident. Mr. Johnson was charged with Felony Assault on an Individual with Disabilities and Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury. Later in the day on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, officers located Mr. Johnson where he was taken into custody without incident. During Mr. Johnson’s arrest, Mr. Johnson was found to be in possession of Cocaine, Marijuana and two firearms.
