GEC Senior recognized as Firefighter of the Year
Dorien Sutton, a senior at Greene Early College, has been selected by the Walstonburg Fire Department as 2020 Fireman of the Year.
Dorien joined the department when he was 15 years old and continues to attend weekly training session so he can become a certified fireman at 18. He was also selected as the Rookie Fireman for Walstonburg for 2019. In addition to his commitment to the fire department, he is in the process of completing his Eagle Scout requirements while maintaining a 3.00 plus GPA at GEC.
Dorien will graduate 2022 with his Associate degree from LCC and his high school diploma as well as completion of his welding certification. Although he is not committed to a particular college or university as of yet, he expresses an interest in fire service as well as the medical field.
