Help wanted: Research Study Coordinator at The Adams School of Dentistry

The Adams School of Dentistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is looking to hire a motivated and enthusiastic Research Study Coordinator to work in Lenoir County, NC.

The initial appointment period is three years, full-time. As Research Study Coordinator, you will be engaging with families in Lenoir County on a research study of children’s dental health. In the waterBEST study, you and the research team will provide bottled water to households and monitor children’s dental health. The goal is to determine if fluoride in the bottled water helps to prevent dental cavities. You and the research team will be the public face of the waterBEST study.

You will promote the study in the community, recruit infants and their families into the study, and complete follow-up visits. Your day-to-day activities will be divided between office work in Kinston and visiting the homes of 200 children recruited into the study. You will need a NC Driver’s License and personal transportation to visit participants home as required. Some lifting of 5-gallon water bottles is required.

We’re looking for someone interested in public health who will communicate respectfully, clearly and professionally with community members. You must be proficient with data management systems and meticulous in adhering to the study protocol.

Experience of working in a research study and knowledge of clinical trials methods is desirable. You will oversee the work of a research assistant and a water bottling technician.

The salary range is $48,000 to $53,500, with benefits.
