Two local holiday parades will be live streamed by Neuse News. On December 4, 2021 at 4:30 pm, the ‘Light the Night’ Kinston Christmas Parade, will light up the streets of Kinston to celebrate the upcoming holiday season. Deep Run will also have its first Christmas Parade.

At the Kinston parade, Neuse News Publisher BJ Murphy and Community Council for the Arts Operations Manager Martha Bishop will provide commentary on the floats and parade entries. A live stream of the parade will be available at www.facebook.com/neusenews.

“Please join us in person or on the Neuse News live stream for one of the best Christmas parades in Lenoir County,” said Leon Steele, Executive Director of Downtown Kinston Revitalization. “We heard your requests and are excited to bring back the nighttime parade.”

Former New England Patriots Quarterback and Kinston Native Lin Dawson will be this year’s Grand Marshall. The Kinston Christmas Parade has reserved seating at the red carpet. The cost to reserve a seat is $10 and seating is limited. Those interested in reserving a seat can call (252) 525-6144.

“Come make a family day of it downtown and visit the Pearson Park lighting display after the parade,” said Steele. “It’s a great place for selfies and family photos.”

In addition to the Kinston Christmas Parade, the town of Deep Run will host its very first Christmas Parade. On Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 6:00 pm, Neuse News will also live stream the Deep Run Christmas Parade. At the Deep Run parade, Murphy will be joined live by County Commissioner J. Mac Daughety and parade organizer Jo Ellen Sloan. The live stream will be available at www.facebook.com/neusenews.

“Our communities deserve to be showcased to the world and Neuse News is honored to help Deep Run and Kinston this year,” said Murphy.

In addition to the parade, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the Deep Run Volunteer Fire Department. At the Deep Run Volunteer Fire Department a collection will be taken of new, unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots toy drive.

“Our only wish is to continue to grow our livestream capabilities and manpower to do more,” said Murphy. “Yet none of this is possible without our sponsors, so we cannot thank them enough.”

The deadline to enter into the Pink Hill Christmas Parade is on November 24, 2021. Participants who wish to be a part of the parade will be charged a $35.00 entry fee. Nonprofit organizations can participate in the parade for free.
