Opening Memorial Day Weekend, May 29, 2021, Kinston Community Center’s Lions Water Adventure water park plans to offer a safe family-oriented place for fun in the sun this summer.

Kinston/Lenoir County Parks and Recreation Director Corey Povar said, “We are so excited to offer our Kinston Community Center members access to our newly refurbished Lions Water Adventure water park!”

Access to the water park is included in the membership. There are members-only hours that allow Kinston Community Center members exclusive time to enjoy the water park when it is not open to the public.

“The Kinston Community Center offers an all-inclusive membership option for everyone,” said Kinston Community Center Director Kelly Cannon. “You not only get access to our state of the art exercise equipment, aqua and fitness classes, basketball courts, and elevated walking track with membership, but membership also includes access to Lions Water Adventure.”

The water park offers a 5,000-square-foot play area for small children with fountains, slides, sprayers, and water dump buckets. There is a 25-yard, eight-lane lap pool in addition to a therapeutic pool kept at 90 degrees year-round. Lions Water Adventure features three-tower water slides.

“We are still planning to have several COVID measures in place to ensure safety and that everyone has a Roarin’ Good Time this summer,” said Povar.

The 550 feet Lazy River is a popular feature of the water park with dump buckets and sprayers along the route for participants to enjoy.

“We are the perfect stop for family fun this summer,” said Cannon.

There are lockers and a changing area for customers to utilize and COVID policies will be in place. With packages in place for parties, reservations can be made for the bungalows as well as splash parties.
