Farmer's market update for June 19, 2021

We are so very happy to offer FRESH BUCKS at our market. Fresh Bucks are funded by a grant awarded to us by RAFI(Rural Advancement Foundation International) , which enables the market to give free tokens to match an EBT purchase up to $20.00. In other words, spend up to $20.00 from an EBT card and receive up to $20 in free tokens, for a total of $40.00 for one to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables.

This week, we welcome Barnett Cattle Farm to the market. They raise grass-fed, all natural local Poll Hereford Beef in the Cove City area. Below you will find a list of their products. Get your grill hot and sizzling to cook a fabulous Forth of July feast.

Did you know June is National Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Month? Come celebrate with Teresa Morris, EFNEP Educator, with NC Cooperative Extension's Locally Delicious and see how she turns ordinary cabbage into an extraordinary dish!

B & B Eggs: As fresh as it gets. Straight from the hens free range Sandra will also bring a few vases of beautiful flowers similar to the ones shown above come early so you can take one home!


Bluhm in Bloom ..... Kelly Bluhm - Just in...Kelly has a family emergency. It is doubtful that she will be with us this Saturday. Beautiful wreaths, both seasonal and special occasion....check out her 4TH of July wreaths!

Porter Farms ... Cherokee Purple Heirloom tomatoes, freshly dug potatoes, string beans, local blueberries, garden peas, local corn, okra, cucumbers, zucchini, onions & lots of bottled preserves, salad dressings & marinades also, from Florida, tomatoes, watermelon, cantaloupe & sweet corn.

TC Smith Produce : more delicious cucumbers, Ivanhoe blueberries, zucchini, red potatoes, onions, sharp head cabbage, greens & collards. squash & an abundance of preserved fruits and veggies And from Florida...tomatoes, long green cucumbers, vidalia onions

TJ Designs Teri will bring her delightful designs to help accessorize your home...some are seasonal and some are timeless ( another message just in .... this one from Teri. She is planning to move into a new home on Saturday. Consequently she might not be at the market )

ENC Honey: Offering several varieties of local honey, plus honeycomb, comb honey, bee pollen CBD infused honey and beeswax from ENC beekeepers.

Rodney Jarman: Kettle Style Snacks .... the pork skins, pork rinds, fried peanuts.

It's Holy Granola: All natural treat that can be used as a topping for yogurt or ice cream, can be added to oatmeal, sprinkled on fruit or just eaten by the handful as a snack
