Lenoir County announces additional deaths related to COVID-19

The Lenoir County Health Department (LCHD) is reporting 14 additional deaths in the county of residents who had tested positive for COVID-19. This brings the total number to 136. The 14 fatalities occurred since the last time the LCHD reported COVID-19 deaths on June 9.

Of the 14 deaths:

• 12 were residents older than 65; two were younger than 65

• 12 were residents who had underlying conditions; two had no underlying conditions

“We ask Lenoir County residents to remain vigilant against COVID-19,” LCHD Director Pamela Brown said. “It is important — now more than ever — to get your vaccination against this disease. The vaccination is free and will help you and those you care about.”
