The PumpHouse 1906 Cocktail Bar & Social House opens in Kinston
Social House Vodka has launched The PumpHouse 1906 Cocktail Bar & Social House at its distillery in Kinston, located at 906 Atlantic Ave.
“We will have our grand opening [Saturday] which will be available to the public,” said Dean Daughety, Distillery Experience and Private Events Manager at Social House Vodka. “We will be open at 11 am and go all the way until 11 pm. We will have live music, tents set up outside, and corn hole. It will be a fun time.”
The grand opening follows two invite-only openings including a 1920s themed flapper party.
“The building constructed in 1906, it was the pump house where the town of Kinston got their water,” said Daughety. “The town of Kinston was renowned for having pure artisan well water.”
While Kinston residents don’t use that water anymore, The PumpHouse will.
“Every bottle of vodka you get is made from that water,” said Daughety.
Local Artist Hayden Tedder painted the murals that patrons can enjoy on the back patio, as well as doing the murals in the bathrooms. The Social House mural on the bricks behind the bar was also done by Tedder.
“The better water you get, because it’s not treated with all these chemicals and it’s naturally filtered, you get a better product,” said Daughety.
President Cary Joshi looked all over the south when deciding on the location. The water from Kinston was the deciding factor.
“We want to be a catalyst for change. We are grateful to have worked alongside numerous organizations at over 200 charitable events across North Carolina for the past three years,” said Joshi, “with The PumpHouse 1906™, we bring the core purpose of SOCIAL HOUSE® to real life with our own place to create social connections, deepen our roots in the local community, and give back to those in need.”
