Letter to the Editor: Your rights end where my safety begins
By Catherine Sheppard
I live in a retirement home with 30 other people. We are all vaccinated against Covid-19. We all are eager to get the booster shot.
Recently, our director told us it has become necessary to restrict our going out and others coming in. He declared these rules for our health and safety. I agree.
However, I note that several have posted on Facebook that you also follow the safety protocol, but you respect those who remain unvaccinated. I disagree.
I find it difficult to respect those who oppose vaccination and still go out and about freely. You are the ones who spread Covid-19 Why are you not restricted. Yes, you have the right to not be vaccinated, but common decency should make you quarantine yourself. You do not have the right to infect others! Your rights end where my safety begins!
