Chadwick Stokes: Paranormal Investigation of Historic Harmony Hall - Friday, October 28th 2022
The spooky season is upon us with various events and activities to celebrate the most haunted day of the year. One of the more interesting events is happening in downtown Kinston with a paranormal investigation taking place at Historic Harmony Hall. The historic property has long been rumored to be the home of various spirits depending on who you ask. With its history dating back to the 18th century, it is not a stretch to say the house is frequented by spirits if you believe in the sort of thing of course.
On Friday, October 28th 2022, the Lenoir County Historical Association is giving a small number of visitors an opportunity to experience for themselves the alleged hauntings of Historic Harmony Hall. Visitors who purchase a ticket ahead of time will reserve a spot for the evening’s program. Visitors will need to bring their own paranormal investigative equipment for this experience. A limited number of guests will be allowed to attend so contact the Lenoir County Historical Association by calling (252) 522-0421 or by email at harmony.hall.kinston@gmail.com.
Simon Bright, Richard Caswell and others have been rumored to still haunt the property to this very day. Knocking at the door, footsteps coming down the stairs, etc. are just some of the sounds that have been heard in the house throughout the years. Personally, I have always felt a presence in the house, particularly upstairs where an alleged suicide happened in the 1800s.
The most recent paranormal investigation of the property was done in October 2020 and the guests who attended claimed to make contact with a significant number of spirits that evening. There were no props set up in any fashion so anything that is seen or heard is real.
This event is one of many designed to support the Lenoir County Historical Association’s mission of history education and preservation of Historic Harmony Hall. We would like to invite all of our supporters to visit our Facebook page as well as our website.
