The citizens of Pink Hill will be voting on a Mixed Beverage Referendum to decide whether or not to permit the sale of mixed beverages in hotels, restaurants, private clubs, community theatres, and convention centers and the ‘on-premises’ and ‘off-premises’ sale of malt beverages and unfortified wine in qualified establishments. This referendum can only be voted on by registered voters of Pink Hill on Election Day, November 8, 2022.

Voters that use early voting, or by-mail ballot, will have the opportunity to go to their precinct on Election Day, November 8th, to receive the ballot that contains the Mixed Beverage vote.

Pink Hill Commissioner Pete Fantini hopes the referendum passes. “I am for this,” said Fantini. “The commerce with extra tax revenue and growth will be exceptional for our town. A great sit-down restaurant or three to stop traffic that comes through town and shop at the array of businesses we have here in town. This town of ours is part of an amazing community and deserves to see positive growth.”

“I am for the Mixed Drink Referendum,” said Pink Hill resident, and owner of Mane Attractions Salon, Suzie Baker. “I feel like if we were to approve this memorandum, it could possibly draw new business to a town that needs it desperately.”

According to supporters, residents of Pink Hill that want to have a few drinks with dinner have to go to a neighboring town, which takes revenue away from the town.

“I think there are businesses that would be eager to come into our small town if we could get this passed,” said Baker.
