Greene County Middle School has identified family and community engagement as a goal with in the school’s Improvement Plan. During the Pandemic, GCMS realized, as most schools did, that one of the greatest challenges was finding ways to keep families engaged. Now post pandemic, the school is seeing an increase in family involvement.
A parent advisory committee has been established, and the school has hosted 2 large family events so far. The school’s first curriculum night had over 400 people in attendance. They recently hosted a Trunk or Treat/ Fall Festival with a large turnout. The school plans to use these funds to help plan and develop family engagement activities to further build the bridge between school and family.
