Evelyn Dove Coleman: Spending Your Time

See this content in the original post

The late great Otis Redding sang a song called "Sitting On The Dock of the Bay." I have often wondered what inspired him to write those lyrics, where he just sat from sun-up to sun-down, watching ships roll in. What caused him to feel so lonesome?

It really makes a lot of difference when friends or family stop by and spend time together, just catching up on how life is going. One of the most valuable things we can give each other is our time. An old college chum spent a Sunday afternoon at my house recently and we simply reminisced about times we shared way back in our Carolina and her Columbia days.

It may pull someone out of a dreary state of mind that no one knew they were going through. And it might just boost an already upbeat and happy time. Whichever, it can't hurt. And it may just do a heap of good.

Now that Covid-19 is waning hopefully, put on your meaningfully crafted masks, and spend some of your time with someone you love.
