In 2016, Magic Mile Media went from an idea to a downtown local business in Kinston. The Magic Mile Media family, which includes Neuse News, is thankful to be a part of the community. 

Magic Mile Media and Neuse News President BJ Murphy is thankful for his family, including his father who had a trying time these last two years, and for the blessings he doesn’t deserve. 

“Oddly enough, I’m also thankful for those who help fuel my ambition and they tend to be the ones doubting my team, trying to take food off my family’s table, or whispering in the shadows of social media,” said Murphy. “These individuals are part of the reason I won’t quit. I’m thankful, because without you, it wouldn’t be as much fun.”

Murphy looks forward to catching his breath and winding down a bit for Christmas. 

Aleatha Thrower, who has been with Magic Mile Media for over four years, is thankful for her family, her friends, and having a job she loves. The thing she’s most looking forward to about the Christmas season is; ”For it to be over.”

Correspondent/Live Stream Tech Matt Lococo, who has been with Neuse News for a little over four years, is thankful for his family, his friends, and a country that he can celebrate his faith in. He’s also thankful for the little things, saying, “Life is way too short!”

Lococo is looking forward to the joy the Christmas season brings his children, besides the lights and the decorations. 

The self-proclaimed Grand Poobah of all things Livestream for Neuse News / Magic Mile Media Dr. Travis Towne has been with Magic Mile Media for over four years. He is the Chief Technical Engineer and a teacher. 

“I am thankful for a family who loves me (most days) despite my craziness and oddities,” said Towne. “I am thankful for a job that I love and allows me to invest in the lives of people who will affect the world around them. I am thankful for the opportunity to work with different organizations to bring to fruition their ideas and help them develop plans to promote their message.”

The newest addition to Magic Mile Media, Lia Biscardi, has been with the team for a little over a year. She is thankful for being able to be herself with her friends, family, and coworkers.

“I am the grinch,” said Biscardi. “I am happy that the holiday season gives me more of a reason to spend time with family and friends, especially since the last two years have been emotionally tough for my entire family.”

Assistant Publisher Kristy Bock is thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the Kinston community and looks forward to many years of sharing local news with all of her neighbors.
