Justin Stout: Help Shape the Future of Your Local Library

Neuse Regional Libraries staff are currently hard at work on a new Strategic Plan for 2023-2028 which will guide the future of our local libraries and provide a road map for how we provide innovative services that meet the demands of our community. As part of this process, the Library is currently assessing the needs of these communities, in part through a survey open to all residents of Greene, Jones, and Lenoir Counties.

The Library works diligently to provide quality services and materials to the residents of our region, but we recognize that there is always room for improvement and that the needs of the community are constantly evolving. We make it a priority to continuously reevaluate how we can best serve the public. Additionally, we recognize many residents not be aware of some of the modern services the library offers to the community, such as the Digital Media Lab studio where patrons can create music, video, podcasts, and computer animation, or the Digital Resource Rover, a mobile library that serves dozens of locations across Greene, Jones, and Lenoir Counties.

In order to best identify new and emerging community needs, the Library is seeking input through a survey during the month of November. The survey is available through the Library’s website at neuselibrary.org or at any of our locations in Greene, Jones, and Lenoir Counties. We encourage you to take a few minutes and complete the survey. We greatly value your input. As a token of our appreciation, everyone who completes the survey will have a chance to win a $25 gift card.

Even if you're not a regular library user, we still want your input! Because our surveys tend to receive many more responses from regular library users, responses from non-users are extremely valuable. We can benefit greatly from your perspective and learn more about how we can reach even more members  of the community. If you are a library user, we encourage you to find someone who is not or has not used the library in many years and share the survey with them. We are fortunate to have a community that values and supports its library and empowers us to provide innovative and impactful services to our local residents.
