With assistance from the public, Raven Whitaker (29) of Kinston, N.C. was identified as one of the assailants in the November 28th shooting that occurred near Emma Webb Park, Kinston, N.C. Warrants were obtained on Whitaker for Attempted First Degree Murder and Larceny of a Firearm.

On December 20th, 2022, members of the Kinston Police Department were able to apprehend Whitaker without incident. Whitaker has been placed in the Lenoir County Detention Center under a secured bond.
