Swinson will be sworn in as a Judge on March 11th, 2022.   After receiving the training offered by the UNC School of Government, she will begin to hear cases in District Court.

“Although it will take a while to get used to the schedule,  I feel confident in my abilities and hope to run the courtroom efficiently,” said Swinson.

Swinson grew up in Duplin County and graduated from East Duplin High School. She went on to North Carolina State University and then graduated from North Carolina Central School of Law. She begin her legal career as a prosecutor for Onslow, Duplin, Sampson and Jones counties.

For ten years, Morgan practiced real estate, family law, and criminal law, while also serving as the Guardian Ad Litem Attorney Advocate for the children of Duplin and Sampson Counties.

“I hope to be fair and impartial, uphold the constitution as written and run the courtroom efficiently, saving time and taxpayer dollars,” said Swinson. “I look forward to the opportunity to serve the communities that I love so much.”
