Help wanted: LCC - Assistant Registrar
The Assistant Registrar provides support for all aspects of the registration process from registration through graduation as well as report processing and submission. The Assistant Registrar supports the registrar in the management of student files and class enrollment and performs general office duties for the department.
The duties of the Assistant Registrar include, but are not limited to:
Create and submit the ICR report, including FTE calculations, error reports, the work file, and run associated verification reports on required forms such as permit to repeat and permit to makeup course time
Perform the Auto-Grad process for students each academic semester
Create course sections and process change of schedule forms
Process student registrations, drop/add forms, credit by exams, developmental by-passes, incompletes, and other forms as needed
Process transcript requests and enrollment verifications in the absence of the staff assistant
Generally oversees clerical tasks in preparation for graduation to include creation of diplomas, name cards, and scrolls for graduation
Conduct enrollment verifications as needed for athletics, social security, employment, loan deferments, social services, insurance, etc.
Assist in planning curriculum registration and graduation activities
Serve on committees and participates in college functions as required
Work closely with departments within the College, specifically the Admissions Office, Business Office, and Financial Aid Office to ensure accuracy of student accounts and educational records
Assist with training other staff members
Assist the Registrar in supervising student workers
Represent the Registrar in meetings as needed
Represent the Registrar during his/her absence
Other duties may be assigned by the Registrar and/or Dean of Student Services
Qualifications
Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution; bachelor's degree preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and the use of a variety of office equipment to include fax machine, photocopier, scanner, videoconferencing, and telephone systems
Excellent typing, public relations, communications, and problem-solving skills
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Working knowledge of the Datatel Colleague system preferred
Working Conditions
Typical office environment
Frequently sitting at a desk or workstation using a telephone, computer, keyboard, and mouse; some standing and walking
