Two Parrott Academy sophomores have been accepted into the NC Governor’s School in dance after completing applications and submitting audition videos. Haynes Lewis will attend GS East Campus at Meredith College, and Makky Mozie will attend the West Campus at Winston-Salem State University.

Both girls entered the APA dance program as middle schoolers and are now in the Upper School Dance Ensemble.  Lewis has won two state championship medals at the NC Scholastic Dance Festival, and this past December she performed the role of Clara in a Greenville production of The Nutcracker. Makky has no experience in dance outside of her participation at Parrott.

APA dance instructor Amanda Oakley Hort commented, “It’s wonderful that both of these very deserving girls were selected.  We are thrilled to have them represent Parrott Academy.”   Hort has several years’ experience as an instructor at Governor’s School and will serve as Lead Dance Instructor this summer.
