Local eatery Mad Hatter, at 212 North Street in Kinston, announced on Facebook that the restaurant is closing in the post below.

We have some exciting news that we would like to share and while it may be a short term inconvenience we hope that the end result will be worth it!!!

The Mad Hatter will be closing its doors Sunday, April 3rd to explore other ways to serve downtown Kinston. Come see us this weekend to celebrate!

With staffing issues, etc., we have continued to stay open to serve our community to the best of our ability. However, we are losing more staff to opportunities we hope enrich their lives and their families lives.

While we already have some “irons in the fire”, we hope 212-A W. North Street will be back serving our community soon and will keep everyone posted as new developments occur.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to the future and serving you once again!

Also, I would like to share that we are bringing Ice Cream back to downtown! Look for Scoop to be open May 1…just before BBQ fest.

The entrance will be located in the public parking lot underneath our awning right behind Just Add Salt!

Look for some mild construction in the coming weeks!

It is going to be ALL GOOD!!!
