KPD: Suspect turned himself in for Sunday shooting

Press release from the Kinston Police Department:

On Sunday, April 10th , 2022, at approximately 5:10 p.m. Kinston Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a person that had been shot in Mitchell Wooten Apartments. Officers responded to the location and located a 36 year old suffering from multiple nonlife-threatening gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Vidant Medical Center for treatment. The victims name is Timothy Staten. Officers were able to locate the scene of the incident and quickly identified the suspect as Deon Goff, 30, of Kinston. Warrants for Attempted Murder were obtained and around 11 p.m. Goff turned himself into the Kinston Police Department and he was placed in the Lenoir County Jail under a secured bond.
