On Tuesday morning, the North Carolina Global TransPark Economic Development Region held a ribbon cutting ceremony for Building Envelope Erection Services (BEES) at 1441 Nahunta Road in Snow Hill.

“We talked to them about growing the business in Greene County, and they decided to grow their business here in Greene County,” said Harold Thomas, Vice President, North Carolina Global TransPark Economic Development Region. “I appreciate all their efforts.”

According to their website, BEES is a team of builders, doers, creative thinkers, and problem solvers with a passion for building, committed to building envelope, with a focus on glass and glazing.

“I would like to extend our sincere thanks for the support of our organization,” said Will Brown, BEES Vice President. “Our greatest thanks go to the team members that have been here at BEES, part of our family, that have worked and strived so hard to continue to grow into the organization we are today.”

BEES was awarded the following Performance-Based grants: NC Department of Commerce - Building Reuse ($75,000) and Greene County Incentives ($19,300). BEES was also awarded the following grants: Pitt and Greene EMC ($9,000) and Lenoir Community College Training Grant ($9,900).

“This one is uniquely special to me,” said Brown. “Its personality isn’t defined by it being finished. It's defined by commitment and fortitude. The partnerships that allowed it to come together in the first place. It's even more defined by the potential that it represents for the future, for our group and the county as a whole.”

The event was attended by the Greene County Commissioners, Senator Don Davis, the Global TransPark Economic Development Region team, and other community members.

“This is a great addition to the county,” said Davis. “This is where we need to be right now as we are still coming out of difficult times. This is about growing the economy, and growing the county.”
