Parrott art students nationally recognized

Local students Caroline Keenan and Holland Killinger recently learned their art work has been selected for a national virtual exhibition sponsored by the renowned Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida. 

This painting by Parrott senior Nastia Hnatov won first place for the 3rd District in the Congressional Art Competition. 

The Parrott Academy students entered the 2022 Ringling College High School Art Contest at the encouragement of their teacher, Jana Miller.  “I was delighted that Parrott had two students whose works were selected from over 400 nationwide submissions,” Miller said. The works will be available for online viewing later this spring. 

Additionally, Parrott seniors Nastia Hnatov and Anna Haddad won first and third place respectively in the Congressional Art Competition.  Hnatov, who placed third in the same competition last year, submitted her oil painting entitled “Five O’Clock Chores.” As the 3rd Congressional District winner, the piece will hang in the Cannon Tunnel in Congress for the next year.  Haddad’s oil will be displayed in 3rd District Congressman Greg Murphy’s office.
