Rep. Humphrey appointed as Vice Chair of House Disaster Recovery and Homeland Security Committee
RALEIGH, N.C. – On Tuesday, North Carolina House Speaker Tim Moore appointed Rep. Chris Humphrey (R – Lenoir, Greene, Jones) to serve as the Vice-Chairman of the House Committee on the Disaster Recovery and Homeland Security Committee.
“I’m honored to have been appointed to serve as the Vice Chairman of the Disaster Recovery & Homeland Security Committee,” said Humphrey, “I’m proud of the work that’s already been done to help prepare North Carolina for future natural disasters and flood events; however this is just the start, and I’m excited to play a role in taking a proactive approach to making our state more resilient for decades to come.”
Rep. Chris Humphrey was a co-sponsor and strong supporter of HB 500: “The Disaster Relief and Mitigation Act”, which made historic investments in North Carolina’s disaster recovery and resiliency. In 2020 he was selected to serve as a member of the American Flood Coalition, a bipartisan organization that works to address the adverse effects caused by flooding and severe storms.
