In the upcoming 2023 Municipal Election, one candidate stands out as a potential game-changer for Greene County. Jesse Best, the owner and operator of Best Café in Walstonburg, is throwing his hat into the ring for the position of Town Commissioner. With his deep roots in the community and a fresh perspective, Best aims to bring a new era of leadership to the area.

"My name is Jesse. I've been a resident of Walstonburg for 12 years. I am the owner and operator of Best Café in Walstonburg. My Café has currently been open for 4 years. With being in business, I've gained a lot of trust from my fellow customers/neighbors. In which they freely voice their ideas and concerns, and I feel like I can represent them well," says Best.

Motivated by the desire to be a catalyst for change, Best emphasizes the importance of fresh eyes and ideas in shaping the community's future. "What motivated me to run was, you can't continue to preach change when you're not a part of it. Fresh eyes and ideas are a must for something new to happen."

When it comes to local infrastructure improvements and addressing the specific challenges Greene County has faced in recent years, Best acknowledges that he'll need time to fully understand the situation. "Once in the chair, then I can answer that question. At this moment, I'm not fully aware of the specific challenges the county is facing."

Similarly, when asked about the needs of the school districts in Greene County, Best emphasizes that he'll need to assess the situation as an elected official. "Once in the chair, then I can answer that question. At this moment, I'm not fully aware of the specific needs the school districts are facing."

Job opportunities and economic growth are vital concerns for the residents of Greene County. Best's strategy involves presenting compelling reasons for businesses to invest in the area. "I will look into ways of presenting and giving businesses a reason to come. If a business isn't presented with an idea in which they can see growth, they're not coming. So you have to show them the potential of a given area."

Regarding public safety, Best acknowledges that his first-time candidacy limits his familiarity with other counties' situations. "At the moment, there aren't any specific measures I feel should be implemented. Reason being is because I'm not too familiar with what is or is not going on within other counties."

On environmental issues, Best is committed to championing policies that promote sustainability and environmental consciousness. However, he plans to take a cautious approach: "By this being my first time running for a position like this, I would first have to be elected. Then, once in office, I could look over what is being presented and then give my thoughts on what actions may or may not need to be done."

Transparency and accountability are cornerstones of Best's approach to public service. He wants residents to feel comfortable voicing their concerns and be involved in the decision-making process. "I allow residents to feel comfortable with coming to me to voice their concerns and discuss a resolution with fellow commissioners, while keeping residents informed with the process."

In conclusion, Jesse Best, a dedicated member of the Walstonburg community, brings a fresh perspective and a commitment to transparency to the 2023 Municipal Election. With his background in business and a genuine desire to make a positive impact, he stands ready to represent the residents of Greene County effectively.

As Best himself puts it, "You can't continue to preach change when you're not a part of it. Fresh eyes and ideas are a must for something new to happen." Greene County residents will have the opportunity to decide if Jesse Best is the change they've been waiting for in the upcoming election.
