Bank robbery suspect has been apprehended

On Friday, October 20, 2023, with assistance from community members, quick action from officers, and help from our newest recruit K-9 Knox, Ralph Nobles was apprehended in a wooded area near the 100 block of S. Orion Street. Upon approach, Nobles lead officers on a foot pursuit as they attempted to apprehend him. A perimeter was quickly established and K-9 Knox and his handler were deployed into the area and Nobles was quickly located and arrested without further incident. After his arrest, Nobles was placed in the Lenoir County Jail under a secure bond.

The individual responsible for the armed robbery that took place this morning at the Greater Kinston Credit Union, 901 N. Queen St. Kinston, has been identified as Ralph Noble, 39 years old, of Kinston. Noble has an active arrest warrant for Armed Robbery. Members of the Kinston Police Department are currently searching for Noble. If anyone has information about this incident or knows the whereabouts of the suspect, please call the Kinston Police Department’s Tips Line at 252-939-4020 or Lenoir County Crime Stoppers at 252-523-4444. Calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential and anonymous, and the caller may be eligible for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.

A statement from the Kinston Police Department:

At approximately 9am members of the Kinston Police Department were dispatched to the Kinston Greater Credit Union, 901 N. Queen St. in reference to a Armed Robbery. At this time, investigators are on scene and following up on leads. At this time we are actively searching for a short black male wearing a black a red coat and green mask. We ask anyone with information to contact the police department with information. More information to follow.

The Kinston Police Department is at the Greater Kinston Credit Union for what is being reported as the second bank robbery in Kinston this week. According to witnesses, no weapon was shown during the incident and no one was hurt. Kinston Police Department is following up on leads.
